Hope Kiwanis Club Hears HAPS Program
HOPE – The Hope Kiwanis Club heard from Dr. Carol Ann Duke, principal of the Hope Academy of Public Service on Tuesday April 11th.
Dr. Duke said they are finishing their first year with 148 students in grades five through eight.
The eighth-graders finishing this year will stay one more year on the HAPS campus as ninth-graders. All nineteen of those ninth-graders will spend one hour a day on the U of A campus and will finish their freshman year with six hours of college credit.
HAPS has also partnered with the Clinton School of Public Service on a public service curriculum for grades five through nine. Graduate students from the Clinton School of Public Service will have a public presentation Tuesday April 18th at 6:00pm in the Spring Hill Suite at Hempstead Hall. The presentation is free and the public is welcome.
