Hope Public Schools District Records To Be Destroyed
HOPE – The Hope Public School District will make special education records available to eligible parties beginning July 3, prior to mandatory destruction on July 17.
State and federal requirements specify the destruction of special education records within five years of the exit of a student from the local school district program, according to Mary Beth Fincher, HPS special education coordinator.
Fincher said records will be available at the district administrative offices, 117 East Second St., for eligible persons to obtain from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, beginning July 3 through July 14.
All eligible special education records remaining will be destroyed beginning July 17, she said.
Fincher said eligible parties may contact her at 870-722-2700, ext. 23, or call Lynn Kimbell at ext. 22 to arrange to obtain special education records.
