Medical Emergency
At approximately 3:43 p.m. on September 6, Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 260 Hempstead 108 in reference to a medical emergency.
Upon arrival, he assisted Pafford EMS in lifting a person from the floor of her bathroom to the gurney. Person stated that she had fallen and was unable to get up. Pafford EMS then transported the person to Wadley in Texarkana.
Missing Person
At approximately 4:24 p.m. on September 6, Deputy Sorensen was dispatched to 105 Highway 299 in referenced to a missing person.
Upon arrival, he made contact with Lloyd Tyra, who stated he believes his fiancée, Brandi Coe, is missing. He stated the last time he saw her was at approximately 2:30 p.m. on September 5, in the 100 block of South Elm in Hope.
He stated her “attitude” had changed yesterday morning and she became very antisocial with him and wasn’t acting “right”. He stated she had walked from the library to a store in the 100 block of South Elm. He stated he asked her if she was ready to go and she told him she wanted to walk for a little bit but she would meet him at Wal-Mart in approximately an hour.
Lloyd stated he went to Wal-Mart an hour later but he never found Coe there. He stated at approximately 9:20 p.m. on September 5, he received a call from her using a phone at the Shell on North Hervey. He stated the message she left stated “pick me up from McDonalds”. He stated when he received the voicemail approximately 30 minutes later he went to McDonalds and waited in the area until approximately midnight and never saw Coe. He stated he is worried about her and believes she may be involved in drugs. Lloyd also stated Coe had lost her phone yesterday while looking for arrowheads so he has no way of reaching her. He also stated he was unsure where she would go in Hope to stay.
Deputy Sorensen then spoke with Coe’s mother, via phone. Her mother stated she lives in New Mexico and hasn’t spoken with her daughter in approximately two months. She stated she has been trying to get a hold of Coe but she has been unable to.
Deputy Sorensen entered Coe into NCIC as a missing person and had Dispatch send out a BOLO in reference to a welfare check on her.
Disorderly Conduct
At approximately 10:28 a.m. on Sept. 6, Sgt. Jimmy Bush was dispatched to 129 Hempstead 1535 in reference to disorderly conduct.
Upon arrival, he spoke with Jason Cox, who works for the Hempstead County Road Department. Cox stated he was working on putting a ditch in to help drain water away from Phillip Robert’s yard. He stated Roberts thought he was doing it wrong and climbed on the side of the grader yelling at him. He stated he contacted the county judge. Cox stated no threats were made by Roberts.
Roberts stated he thought he was supposed to be doing something else and misunderstood what he was doing. Deputy Bush explained to him that if he has a problem he should have spoken with the County Judge’s Office and not climb onto their grader and yell at their employee. He stated he understood and it would not happen again.
Possession of Marijuana
On September 5, at approximately 11:40 p.m., Deputy Brown observed a black Honda Elantra, commit the traffic violation of driving left to center, in violation of Arkansas code 27-51-301, in Hempstead County.
Deputy Brown made contact with the driver, Danyelle Walker.
Deputy Brown asked if she had anything illegal inside the vehicle and she stated she did have some marijuana. Walker stated it was in the driver side door. Deputy Brown located a plastic container containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana in the driver’s door.
Walker was charged and issued a citation for possession of a controlled substance (marijuana) and given a court date of November 6.
Possible Child Pornography.
On September 5, at approximately 12:15 p.m., Deputy McBride was contacted by the father of a juvenile female at the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office in reference to theft and child pornography.
The father stated he was at home when his step-daughter, brought a phone to him with a video of what appeared to be a child between the ages of four and eight. The video appeared to be taken from outside of the bathroom window and had the young child undressed. The father stated there were multiple videos and pictures of juveniles without clothes on the phone. The father stated his step-daughter found the phone in the garage and said it belonged to an individual whom she knew.
The phone was turned into Deputy McBride and will be examined to determine what is on the phone and the results of the investigation will be turned over to the Prosecuting Attorney.
Possession with Purpose to Deliver
On September 4, at approximately 10:10 p.m., Deputy Reyn Brown and Josh Cingolani were patrolling the 1400 block of West Avenue B., When officers observed a 2010 red Chevrolet Impala with paper license commit the traffic violation of no turn signal, in violation of Arkansas code 27-51-403 in Hempstead County.
Deputies made contact with the driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male juvenile and a passenger 19-year-old Decovan Muldrew. During the traffic stop located what appeared to be an empty Black and Mild package. Deputy Brown looked inside the pack and located a plastic baggie with a crystal rock like substance inside suspected to be methamphetamine. At this time, the 17-year-old juvenile was placed under arrest.
Deputies located a lunch box in the passenger’s side floor board containing a clear bag containing a green leafy substance suspected to be marijuana, black digital scales, several empty baggies like the one the marijuana was packaged in, and a mason jar with what appeared to be marijuana residue. At this time, Muldrew was placed under arrest. While searching her person, $167 in US currency was recovered and seized.
The 17-year-old juvenile and Muldrew were transported to the HCDF where they were both charged with possession with purpose to deliver. Upon arrival at the HCDF Deputies contacted the juvenile intake officer. She advised there was court the next morning at 9 a.m. and the 17-year-old could sit in jail until court. Muldrew will be held for her first court appearance and the 17-year-old will be referred to juvenile court.
The suspected methamphetamine was weighed on an uncalibrated digital scale and the weight showed 4.4 grams. The marijuana was weighed on an uncalibrated digital scale and the weight showed 26.1 grams.
