Mrs. Imogene Royston

Mrs. Imogene Nolen Royston, age 97 of Hope, Arkansas passed away Monday, February 26, 2018 in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Royston was born September 18, 1920 in Blevins Community of Hempstead County, Arkansas to Hugh and Mattie Nolen. She is a graduate of Blevins High School, class of 1938. She worked as an Assistant Postmaster at the Blevins Post Office until World War Two, at which time she begins working for the 616th Air Corp Detachment on the Southwestern Proving Ground until the end of World War Two.

In 1947 she married Grandison (Buster) D. Royston, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri. They were married for 55 years and lived on their farm near Blevins, Arkansas. She was a home maker, caregiver, a loving and devoted wife and a loving mother. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hope, Arkansas.

Survivors include two children, a son; Grandison D. Royston, IV of Coal Hill, AR and a daughter Margie Royston Scruggs, husband Joe of Jenks, Oklahoma; a grandson Todd Scruggs (wife Beth) of Jenks, OK, a grandson Guy Royston (wife Kristie) of Hot Springs, AR, two great-grandchildren Maggie Scruggs and Andrew Scruggs both of Jenks, OK.

Mrs. Royston is preceded in death by her parents, Hugh and Mattie Nolen, by her husband, Grandison (Buster) D. Royston, Jr, a grandson, Wade Scruggs, sisters, Ola, Rhea, Alice, Era, Dot and Thalia, her brothers Coy and John Nolen.

The Royston Family extend a grateful thanks to her special friends: Lisa Davis, Jeanice Neel, Judee Gunter, Amy Gilbey, Cricket Collums and Annette Rogers.

Visitation, 6:00 to 8:00pm on Friday, March 2, 2018 at BRAZZEL/Oakcrest Funeral Home 1001 S. Main Hope, AR.

Funeral service, 10:00am, Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the First Baptist Church 3rd and Main St Hope, AR with Bro. Daniel Bramlett officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery located on Hwy, 29 North, next to the Bethel Baptist Church.
