BROWN KIWANIS

PRESCOTT – On Thursday, February 22, Prescott Kiwanis Club welcomed Rena L. Brown as a new member. Brown is proud to call Prescott home. She and her husband Jimmy own and operate the Highway 67 Flea Market in Prescott. The Prescott Kiwanis Club welcomes Brown to our local club and to the world and work of Kiwanis International.

Kiwanis strives to give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life, and to cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism and goodwill. Our Mission Statement:“Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world, one child and one community at a time.”

Locally, club members read to Prescott Elementary School Kindergarten classes, sponsors Prescott High School Key Club, funds and provides toys for needy K-4 grade students through the Prescott High School Key Club annual Christmas Party, provides Annual Kiwanis Honors Banquet to promote academic excellence, sponsors junior softball & baseball teams through Prescott Parks and Recreation, contributes to the Earl Collins Scholarship Fund and gives local scholarships. We also work in collaboration with other local civic clubs on joint community projects as needed. Our Current Young Children Priority One Global Program is “ Project Eliminate”. Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to raise US$110M to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus.
