The Hope Lions Club on Monday February 26th heard about the Hope Schools’ efforts to get a grant for a School Based Health Clinic. The clinic would help children miss less school and would also help the hundreds of students who are “transitional” or homeless get the medical attention they need. School Nurse RenĂ©e Sells and her staff are heading the effort to seek a $500,000 grant to establish the clinic. Plans are for the proposed clinic to be established in the old Home-Ec Clinic on the Hope High campus. Such clinic are already in place in towns such as Mena, Camden, and Gordon. Dr. Linda Clark and Ken McLemore of the Hope Schools brought the program.
