PRESCOTT – A Facebook page has been created for the Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development Office.

According to Mary Godwin, executive director of the EDO, the primary purpose of the page is to have a single, central location where jobs for local business and industry can be posted. Potential employers can get forms from the EDO to fill out and post on the page to let potential employees know exactly what they’re looking for.

The page, Prescott/Nevada County Economic & Community Development, went live recently. Godwin said anyone looking for a job, or who may know of someone looking for gainful employment can visit and like the page to see what’s available. In addition, she suggests visitors to the page not only like it, but share the information there with others. There is no cost to anyone involved. “We’re trying to spread the word and want business and industry to like the page as well,” she said. “People can share the page with their friends and spread the word so we can get good, qualified employees.

“We’re using this as a platform to keep the community informed of what the DDO and other groups in the community are doing. We’re trying to cover all bases and this is just another service we provide.”

Along with being a site for job posting, the page will also recognize and highlight different businesses and the services they offer, as well as introducing the community to different board members. Godwin said the birthdays of board members and volunteers will also be posted on the page.
