Students participate in HAPS

HOPE – Pictured is the large group of students at H.A.P.S. who adopted a “Spread the word to end the word” informal policy at their school. The students each designed their own t-shirt that raised awareness to help others end using the “R” word and to choose a more appropriate term to use when speaking of someone with a disability.

Seven years ago this week, a national Spread the Word to End the Word campaign was launched to build awareness for society to stop and think about its use of the R-word.All of the individuals and staff at ROC salute the H.A.P.S. students for their participation.
