EASTER EGG HUNT 010PRESCOTT – In spite of the overcast skies, the turnout for the annual Prescott0-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt Saturday was huge.

Children from a one to nine years old gathered behind the Potlatch Building to participate in sack races and get their faces painted while waiting their turn to hunt the eggs. Around 3,000 eggs were “hidden” this year, making it one of the largest hunts ever. It didn’t take the youngsters long to clear the field of all the eggs, and four lucky children went home with prizes for finding the golden egg. This year’s prizes were large chocolate bunnies and gift cards. The cards were donated by Stayton and Associates law firm. There was another treat for the children to pick up with along with the eggs – a toothbrush timer.

Once the children were lined up for their respective hunts, the race was on as they descended on the field like a plaque of locusts, gathering up the eggs in record time.
