ELECTION7

PRESCOTT – It is at this time that I, Stacy Jester would like to announce my intent to run for re-election as your Ward 2 Position 2 City Councilmen.

As a lifelong resident of Prescott, I have benefited from the beauty and the rural setting my entire life. It was in this setting I wanted to raise my son, Reed.  As a young adult in our community, I care deeply and passionately about our community choosing to remain in my hometown where my roots are firmly planted, when the majority of my peers I grew up with have moved away.

I believe that public service should not be a career but instead something we contribute.  It has been pleasure serving as your Ward 2 Position 2 on City Council this past term.  I want to do all I can to contribute to preserving what is great about Prescott and making it an even better place to live, work and raise a family.

I have worked in Prescott for 20 years at Hillcrest Care and Rehab, becoming a department head at the mere age of 23, it is this position that I learned early on  that communication, commitment, and decision making ability are key when working with the public.  After just my first year as your councilmen I can assure you those skills are used with progressive thinking and most importantly positive action.  There is, however, a misconception about what a city council “seat” holds, change isn’t instant, but it can be molded by a body of individuals whom have had the desire to serve you this past year.

I am a citizen in this town first and foremost.   I have never claimed to be a politician.  Just a small town girl, with an independent voice who will ask questions to keep you informed, will listen to the needs and challenges of the community sincerely, and respond effectively to bring about the greatest change.

I have had the pleasure of contributing back to our community in several positions besides my city council term. These have been Nevada County Chamber of Commerce for three years, Nevada County Leadership Board for seven years, and I currently sit on the Nevada County Fair Assn Board for four years, in which I serve as director of the Nevada County Fair Pageants.  Outside of our community, I have served over 17 years on the Arkansas Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals.  Serving on these boards prior to my City Council position gave me the opportunity to work with influential people from different backgrounds but with one common goal in sight. Board service provides insight to policy and business practices, it is this service that was very beneficial.

I ask you on May 22, 2018 that you cast your vote for Stacy Jester, Ward 2 Position 2 on the Prescott City
