First responders appreciation dinner

PRESCOTT – First responders in Nevada County were treated to an appreciation dinner by the Prescott Lions Club on April 12.

The meal consisted of fish, fries, hush puppies, burgers and polish sausages. Held at the Stokes Center at Central Baptist Church, members of the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office, Nevada County Ambulance Service, Nevada County Rescue Unit, Prescott Fire Department, various area volunteer fire departments and two emergency helicopter crews.

Emergency Medical Technicians got to show their skills during the dinner, as a woman collapsed. She was given treatment on site and taken to a Hope hospital.

The Lions club cooked 45 pounds of fish, 90 pounds of fries and about 10 pounds of hush puppies.
