On Friday, May 4th, Governor Asa Hutchinson, along with the Director of the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services, Daryl Bassett, will deed over a portion of land previously used for the Hope Migrant Farm Labor Center (HMFLC) to Hempstead County Judge Haskell Morse. The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on 205 Smith Road in Hope, Arkansas.

Since 1954, the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services oversaw the operations of the Hope Migrant Farm Labor Center that provided assistance to migrant farm laborers. Due to the declining migrant populations and a decrease in federal funding, the HMFLC closed in 2013. The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services repurposed a portion of the property for use as an Arkansas Workforce Center which will remain operational at it’s current location.
