PRESCOTT – On Friday April 27, Deputy Bo Morris received a call of a possible intoxicated driver traveling West on State Hwy 24 towards Prescott. The vehicle was described as a Chevrolet Cavalier Tan in color.

Deputy Morris started East on Hwy 24 and met a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle and also observed the said vehicle cross over the center lane marker towards his patrol unit.

Deputy Morris turned around and made a traffic stop on the vehicle at the intersection of Hwy. 24 and Hwy. 67. Contact was made with the operator identifying her as Charity Watkins from Prescott. Deputy Morris noticed that Watkins was acting erratic and nervous while talking with her.

Detective Cody Ferguson from the Prescott Police Department arrived to assist Deputy Morris with the stop.

Deputy Morris gave Watkins a field sobriety test at the scene with no signs of intoxication shown.

Deputy Morris ran a check through dispatch finding that Watkins had valid warrants for her arrest out of the City of Prescott. Watkins was placed under arrest for the warrants at the time.

Deputy Morris conducted a search of Watkins’ vehicle finding a large crystal type substance believed to methamphetamine, a baggie containing an unknown crystal type substance, a glass smoking pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine, one black digital scale and several plastic baggies.

The unknown crystal type substance was field tested and showed positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl.
