Hempstead County Bicentennial Committee Meets

The Hempstead County Bicentennial Committee met Monday May 7th. Under the Finance Report, Dennis Ramsey noted the Committee has $1,995 in the bank and no expenditures for the month. Keenan Williams turned in another $600 for Ramsey to put in the bank.
Under education Ken McLemore talked about the Hempstead County Educators Hall of Fame and Dale Gathright noted it has been suggested that the former Saratoga School participate with possibly their first nominee being the late M.H. Peeebles.
Josh Williams passed out some of the Bicentennial passports for everyone to see. He detailed how those who go to a passport site can prove they were at the site if no one is available to stamp the passport. It was also suggested that a press release be prepared on the passports.
A time capsule was also discussed with Richard Read giving a presentation.
