Bicentennial website up
HOPE – Hempstead County was one of the original five counties formed in Arkansas on December 15, 1818. This year, 2018, is the 200th birthday of the formation of the county. With this in mind, the Hempstead County Bicentennial Committee seeks to promote events and celebrations around this year for Hempstead County.
To keep up with events and historical information you can visit the website www.hempstead200.com. The websites includes a Calendar of Events of current dates of county events through the end of December. More events can also be added and people are encouraged to do so. Links and information on the history of the different communities of Hempstead County can also be found online.
A tab showcasing unique bicentennial items for sale made by SWS Engraving of Hope is also listed with prices and where you can place your order. All of the proceeds go to help with the promotion of the Hempstead Bicentennial celebration.
