PRESCOTT – Students at Prescott High School were recently honored by the Prescott Kiwanis Club at its annual banquet.

Ivory Curry was the featured speaker. He told the students he’s worked hard and encouraged young people throughout his life. Getting an education, he said, is important as it broadens one’s view of the world and if people don’t read, write or listen, they won’t grow.

Education, he said, will present more opportunities than anything else and is the foundation for a successful life. Ivory continued saying it takes everyone to build children and all have an obligation to make sure children have the opportunity for success.

To the students, he said they need to prepare themselves and always be willing to learn no matter what career they decide on. Having knowledge, he added, adds value to the life of others and the only thing that matters is how many people we give added value to their lives.
