EMMET – Tuesday was a day to celebrate in Emmet as the 67 Gas and Grill held a ribbon cutting to announce its grand opening.

The business, owned by Linda and Jason Hamilton, offers gasoline and diesel fuel, as well as a full kitchen, along with convenient items, such as bread and milk. This should make it easier for Emmet residents.

Hamilton said they wanted to own a small business and thought this would be good for their family as well as the store being needed in Emmet. “A lot of people are excited about it,” she said. She thanked everyone for showing up for the ribbon cutting.

Emmet Mayor Dale Booker also thanked everyone for attending and welcomed the Hamilton’s, saying they are Emmet folks, though they don’t live in Emmet proper. “Emmet people welcome this business,” he said. “We’re here to help in any way we can. We need this store and appreciate their opening it.”

The store hours are 5;30 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 5:30 a.m. until 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The store will be closed Sundays. The business offers daily lunch specials, along with several breakfast items, including a breakfast plate, biscuit and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, pancakes and omelets.

They also offer handmade burgers, steak sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, Philly sandwiches, fries, pizza and salads, along with fountain drinks.
