Thursday, May 24  
2:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Birding 101
Birding is an exciting hobby that anyone can enjoy! We will discuss how, with a few simple tricks and tools, you can be well on your way to adding exciting entries to your life list.

Meeting place: Amphitheater
Admission: Free

4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Nature Scavenger Hunt
This nature scavenger hunt is a great way to explore the outdoors and learn about nature. This activity will stimulate your creativity as you learn about the diversity of a wildlife habitat. Join Park Interpreter Liz for a guided hike in Daisy State Park to explore the wonders of nature. Don’t forget sturdy shoes and insect repellent. Meeting place: Pavilion

Friday, May 25  
9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Park Scavenger Hunt
This park-wide scavenger hunt is a great way to learn about the outdoors and all the unique treasures that can be found around Daisy State Park. This activity will stimulate your creativity as you explore the campgrounds and trails. Stop by the park visitor center to pick up your scavenger hunt checklist.

10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Kayak Expedition
Join Park Interpreter Liz for a tranquil kayak outing. This will be an easy kayak expedition, perfect for first time kayakers or those wanting a relaxing activity. Bring clothing and shoes that can get wet. Pre-registration by 1 p.m. Saturday May 19th is required at the visitor center.

Meeting place: Area E Boat Launch
Admission: $14 adults, $7 children ages 6-12, under 6 free with adult in tandem

2:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Discovering Arkansas’s Snakes
Join park staff to discover the exciting world of snakes! We’ll explore the different types you might encounter here in Arkansas, as well as how to identify them. Visitors receive a free snake guidebook!

4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Dutch Oven Cooking Demonstration
Meet at the interpretive center and enjoy a scrumptious cobbler cooked in a Dutch oven by Park Interpreter Liz. Learn the basics of cast iron cooking and how to season and care for them. Be sure to sign up at the visitor center by 2 p.m. Friday, May 25th.

Saturday, May 26  
1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Be an Explorer
Calling all explorers! If you love playing outside and visiting your state parks, come learn how you can be an official Arkansas State Park Explorer. Bring your family to this short program to help you earn your State Park Explorer badge!

2:30 p.m. – 3 p.m. Critter Crunch
Daisy State Park provides diverse habitat for all types of species large and small. Join us as we discover some of the smaller creatures and feed lunch to our co-interpreters, our speckled king snake and our turtles.

3:30 p.m. – 4 p.m. Animal Mythbusters
Have you heard unbelievable stories about animals? Do snakes really chase people? Are bats really blind? Join Park Interpreter Liz as we try to uncover the truth about some of the amazing critters of Arkansas!

Meeting place: Amphitheater
Admission: Free

7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Sunset Kayak Tour
Enjoy a beautiful Lake Greeson sunset by kayak. No paddling experience necessary, but be prepared to paddle for around 2 hours. Before we launch, we will discuss safety precautions and paddling technique. Registration is required by 5 p.m. Saturday, May 26th at the visitor center.

Sunday, May 27  
1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Scenic Lake Tour
Lake Greeson is a beautiful place to make memories. Join us for a tour of Lake Greeson by boat to learn about the history and natural features of this lake. Don’t forget your camera! Seating is limited, so sign up at the visitor center by 11 a.m. on Sunday, May 27th.

Meeting place: Area E Boat Launch
Admission: $10 adults, $5 children ages 6-13, under 6 free

5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Tree I.D. Hike
Enjoying nature can be even more enjoyable with knowledge of the plants that surround you. Learn how to identify the largest plants in the woods – the trees! We will discuss how to identify common Arkansas trees and put your new knowledge to the test on a short stroll through the park.

8 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. “Bat” to Square One: An Introduction to Bats
They aren’t just Batman’s symbol! Join Park Interpreter Liz to learn about the important role bats play in the ecology of Daisy State Park.

Monday, May 28  
10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Scenic Lake Tour

Leave No Trace Hike
Hike along the 3/4-mile Daisy Creek Trail and learn about how you can keep your park clean and green for years to come by practicing “Leave No Trace.” We will discover the unexpected ways litter and pollution can harm our park, and make a plan to minimize our impact on the land.
