June Down On Rain

June has been quite dry until the last third of the month. According to Hope’s official weather reporting station, the Southwest Research and Extension Center, no rainfall was recorded during the first 18 days of June and the first recorded rainfall was only .007 of an inch. The big rain was 1.33 inches which came on June 21st and another quarter inch was recorded Monday morning. So far the rainfall for June is 1.72 inches, down from the average of 4.61. Hope is still up on rain for the year having received 32.38 inches compared to an average of 28.21 inches for this time of year. It is conceivable Hope will not see any more rain this month as there is no rain in the seven day forecast.
Temperatures for June have been plenty warm. Out of 25 days, the temperature has reached 90 or higher for 21 days. The hottest temperature so far has been 95 degrees.
