Washington farmer’s market open Saturday

WASHINGTON The Old Washington Farmers’ Market will be open from 8am to Noon this Saturday, June 30th.  The market is located behind Washington City Hall across from Williams Tavern Restaurant in Washington, Arkansas. Come out and support your local farmers and get locally grown produce.

Vendors at the market include: Arnold Farm of DeAnn with okra, tomatoes, sweet corn, cumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, hot peppers, sweet peppers, and a few watermelon as well; Silvey Farm of Bodcaw with green beans, squash, cucumbers, kale, tomatoes, jellies, zucchini bread, handmade elderberry whistles and wooden spoons; Barry Produce of Washington with cucumbers, squash, jalapeños, painted flower pots and delicious homemade lemonade;  Hannah Berries from Emmet; with Blueberries and tomatoes;  Erwin Soap of Crossroads with Handmade Soaps; Oak Creek Studio of Hope with honey and handcrafted and repurposed goods for the home.  The hot items at market last week were tomatoes and sweet corn and they went fast.  Be sure to get out there early if you want to get those hot items before they are gone!  Historic Washington State Park will have the reading of the Declaration of Independence at 10:30 and 1:30 and 3:30 by Josh Williams on the balcony of the 1874 court house Saturday as well.
