Ranch rodeo set

HOPE – Rodeo fans should get mark their calendars for Sept.27.

This is the date of the Ranch Rodeo, a fundraiser for the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department’s annual Operation Christmas program. The rodeo will start at 7 p.m. and admission is $5 per person.

The rodeo isn’t all fun and games, as there will be $1,000 in added money for the winning team. The entry fee for the 10 four-man teams is $200 per team. All animals must have negative coggins test.

Events include: mugging, branding and wild cow milking. The wild cow milking will be using a real cow and the wranglers have to get the milk in a bottle.

Half the entry fee is due Sept. 13, with checks payable to Operation Christmas. The checks can be mailed to the Hempstead County Sheriff’s Department, 312 S. Washington, Hope, AR 71801.
