BLUFF CITY – There’s a new air conditioning company in the county.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held for Patriot Air Tuesday morning at the city hall in Bluff City.

The business is owned and operated by Jerry McKelvy, a veteran of the Iraqi War. He joined the army in 2003 and the Arkansas National Guard in 2007. He’s been a licensed air conditioning repairman for about eight years. He first studied air conditioning at Arkansas Tech University, finishing up at the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope in 2011.

McKelvy said he can work on any kind of a/c unit, but gets the best deals on Amana products. He does residential, commercial, refrigeration and recreational vehicles. In fact, an RV was on site at the ribbon cutting to demonstrate ductless air conditioning. Patrons were encouraged to go inside the RV to check out how it worked.

McKelvy and his wife, Kayla, have one son, Brayden, nine. He enjoys hunting and fishing in his spare time.

He said he’s available for emergency work after hours and will travel reasonable distances. McKelvy also offers free estimates. He started the business earlier this year. His number is 870-807-2710.
