Jones arrested for aggravated assault

HOPE – On August 22, at approximately 5pm, officers of the Hope Police Department served Barry Jones, 37, of Hope with a warrant for Aggravated Assault of a Family Member.

The warrant was the result of an investigation into an incident that took place on August 20, 2018, at approximately 5am in the 1300 block of South Main Street, in Hope.  During that incident, the victim alleges that Jones pushed her and choked her causing obstruction of breathing.

Jones was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where he was held for 1^st appearance.
