Dalrymple’s birthday celebrated at coffee

PRESCOTT – Thursday’s community coffee was a good deal more than a typical coffee.

The event, held at the Stokes Center at Central Baptist Church, was a birthday party for Carl Dalrymple, who turned 80. The center was full of well-wishers, all telling him happy birthday and there were those who joked about who was older than who.

Dalrymple’s two daughters and son were on hand for the event, though his grandchildren were unable to attend due to school. Along with the three children, he has eight grandchildren. Hank, one of his grandsons, called during the celebration to wish his grandfather a happy birthday.

The crowd gathered to sing Happy Birthday, and enjoyed a mini-tailgate party as most of the snacks could be found at any tailgate event. Dalrymple supports the Prescott Curley Wolves and is a big Razorback fan.

He started in business with Gus McCaskill in 1968, when the office was located across further downtown, but moved to its current location to have more space. He took over the business in 1977 and has continued to offer full-service accounting since.

Dalrymple served two years in the Army, through the ROTC. He was an infantryman and later in the reserves, retiring with the rank of Captain. He said he was discharged prior to America’s involvement in Vietnam.

He said Dalrymple-Crain Accounting will continue offering full-service accounting and tax preparations to the community.
