Smith new Dean of Student Services at UAHT

HOPE – Christopher Smith has been selected as the Dean of Student Services at the University of Arkansas Hope-Texarkana (UAHT).

Smith comes to UAHT from Philander Smith College in Little Rock, where he served as Program Coordinator for Special Programs and Special Assistant to the President. In his new role as Dean of Student Services at UAHT he will provide strategic direction for the departments of Registrar, Counseling, Career Pathways, Student Activities, Career Services, Student Conduct, Campus Safety & Security, TRiO Student Support Services, and TRiO Upward Bound.

Smith is a 2006 graduate of Hope High School and a 2008 graduate of the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope, where he obtained an Associate of Arts degree. In the summer of 2008, he ventured to Washington D.C. to serve as a summer congressional intern. After returning from Washington D.C., he transferred to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR), where he completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 2010. Smith then attended Arkansas State University where he received a Masters of Public Administration degree in 2014. He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational Change and Leadership degree from the University of Southern California.
