Hempstead County Bicentennial “This Day in History” Tuesday, September 18, 2018

The Hempstead County Bicentennial Committee, as part of the 200th birthday celebration, is posting news events from the county’s newspaper for each day in 2018 on its official Facebook page entitled “This Day in History.” The newspaper clippings come from articles in Hempstead County newspapers: “Washington Telegraph” and “Hope Star”. The articles range from 1843 to 1973 with a variety of different topics. Some of the topics have include advertisements for different county merchants to local issues that the county has faced over the years. You can click on the articles and print them off or share with others that might be interested.
