Mass flu clinic held
PRESCOTT – Staff of the Nevada County Health Unit, along with nursing students from UAMS gathered at the Nevada County Fairgrounds Thursday for a mass flu clinic.
The clinic is earlier than usual, partially because cases of flu have already been reported and some businesses providing flu shots have ran out of the vaccine. Debbie Henderson, NCHU administrator, said those who don’t get their flu shots at the mass clinic can come by the NCHU for the vaccination. However, shots after the clinic are $30 each.
The clinic was held from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. to try and give as many people as possible the chance to come by and get vaccinated.
School flu clinics are scheduled in Nevada County, with members of the NCHU and nursing students heading to Nevada on Oct. 2 where they will vaccinate students in the morning and have a mini-mass clinic for residents of the south part of the county who couldn’t make Thursday’s mass clinic in Prescott.
The clinic for the Prescott School District is scheduled for Oct. 9 in the activity center at Prescott Elementary School.
