Stayton joins Stayton and Associates

PRESCOTT – James Stayton was welcomed to Prescott with a community coffee Thursday morning.

Stayton will be joining Stayton and Associates Law Firm, owned by his father, Rowe. He was born in Colorado, moved to Prescott as a sophomore and graduated from Prescott High School. His father was in the military at the time with the National Guard.

From there, he went to the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, and earned a BA in Political Science. He stayed at UA to study law. Now, Stayton joins his father’s practice and will be practicing general law. He would like to see the practice expand to include bankruptcy, Social Security Disability and personal injury. “I got into this profession to help people,” he said.

“I’ve come to appreciate life in a small town,” Stayton continued. “The people are friendly and work together. Fishing is a better social gathering than a cultural party.”

Needless to say, Stayton likes to fish. He also enjoys hunting, playing chess, reading, cycling and has taken up cooking.
