NSD opens bids, sells items

ROSSTON – With little on the agenda, the October meeting of the Nevada School Board went quickly.

Most of the business dealt with the selling of school items to the highest bidder. Edd Cross bought some surplus tires for $230, while Kaven Stone bought two buses, one for $500 and another for $200. Feltin McKinney got two John Deer lawnmowers for a bid of $100, while Teresa Blake purchased a 2007 Durango for $1,450. Fred Huffmaster bought a bus for $200.

Following an executive session, the panel voted to hire Kyle McAfee as the schools GT instructor/coordinator, and to accept the retirement of Dorothy Lowe, a paraprofessional.

Due to the holidays, the next meeting of the board was moved to Nov. 15.
