Two arrested for possession

PRESCOTT – On Wednesday, October 31,  Deputy Bo Morris made a traffic stop on a Blue Honda Civic on US 371 west. The stop was due to a defective tail light.

Contact was made with the operator whom identified himself as Jimmy Maxwell and passenger Steven Suitor. Operator Maxwell could not present any type of identification.  Morris observed what was known to him to be an odor of marijuana coming from within the vehicle.

Steven Suitor showed to have a valid warrant of arrest our of Clark County and was placed in custody.

Deputy Morris conducted a search of the vehicle with assistance of Officer Coby Tillmon with the Prescott Police Department.

Deputy Morris located an undetermined amount of green leafy substance inside of the vehicle along with a pipe that contained a crystal like residue believed to be methamphetamine.

Maxwell was placed in custody for possession of a controlled substance at the time.

After being transported to the Nevada County Detention facility operator Maxwell stated he had given a false name during the stop and stated that his name was Dennis Maxwell. Dennis Maxwell showed to a suspended drivers license and also had valid parole violation along with a body attachment.

Both subjects were turned over to the jail with Maxwell being charged with driving on a suspended drivers license, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal impersonation and for the valid warrants.

Suitor was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and for the valid Clark County warrant.
