Lions auction a success

PRESCOTT – There was a smaller crowd than usual for the annual Prescott Lions Club Auction Thursday and Saturday at the Potlatch Building.

The crowds both nights were around 50 people, but this didn’t stop anyone from bidding for what they wanted. Prior to the auction, those present checked out what was up for sale, decided what they wanted and would bid for the items desired. The major items included a smoker made by the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope, a Razorback Bench and a reconditioned chainsaw. There were plenty of smaller items as well.

Penny Lynch, club president, kicked things off by reminding the audience all proceeds from the auction are used locally by the club. Auctioneer Don Honea worked the crowd to get the bids up, giving people a chance to one-up the previous bidder to help the club out, but also kept the pace going so as not to bog the auction down.
