Train demolishes truck
EMMET – There were no injuries Saturday morning when a Union Pacific train apparently broadsided a semi stopped at the intersection of Hwy. 67 and 299.
Early reports were the truck had stopped at the intersection and its rear air brakes locked up, preventing it from being able to move out of the way of the train. The collision occurred around 11 a.m., with the driver able to get out of the truck’s cab before the train hit. Troopers with the Arkansas State Police worked the accident.
Cleanup operations were still going on at 1:45 p.m.
