Santa popular at museum Saturday

PRESCOTT – There was a packed house at the Nevada County Depot and Museum Saturday for Cookies with Santa Saturday.

Museum Curator Judy Duke had the museum decorated for the Christmas holiday season, complete with a Christmas village and fully trimmed tree. Santa was the special guest to the delight of most of the children. There were a few who weren’t willing to sit on the jolly old elf’s lap and tell him what they want for Christmas this year. However, St. Nick was unfazed and reminded them there was still time to write him a letter, along with providing his address at the North Pole.

There were cookie aplenty, along with coffee (for the bigger kids) and hot chocolate. Some of the visitors took advantage of being at the museum to check out the other, non-holiday-related displays, but they, too, paid St. Nick a visit and let him know what they want this year. The youngsters also made jingle bell necklaces and other craft items. For some, it was a chance to visit and catch up, but even some of the adults wanted their picture taken with Santa.
