Norlean Griffin
Mrs. Norlean Griffin, age 80 of Fulton, Arkansas passed away, Sunday, December 16, 2018 in Nashville, Arkansas. Mrs. Griffin was born in Columbus, Arkansas on August 5, 1938 to Roy and Etta Clayton Hawthorne. Mrs. Griffin was a very devoted wife to her late husband, John C. Griffin, who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: LeRoy, Clayton, Garland and Robert Hawthorne and three sisters: Lou Perry, Jo Hicks and Louise Ray.
Mrs. Griffin loved to go fishing and of course cooking the fish she caught. She loved animals, especially her cats; and Mrs. Griffin was in every sense of the word a wonderful “homemaker”.
She was a very loving mother to sons; Wayne C. Griffin of McCaskill and Larry R. Griffin (Leslie) of Ozan, other survivors include brothers Ed Hawthorne of DeQueen, Doyle Hawthorne of Patmos and Tommy Hawthorne of Columbus and sister Henri Hendricks of Columbus and she was a loving grandmother to; Justin and Jeremy Parker, John David Griffin, Andrew Griffin and Carroll Wayne Griffin and to her eleven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Griffin’s Family wish to give a very special thanks to the Staff of the Nashville Nursing Home and the Staff of Howard County Memorial.
The family respectfully request that memorials be given to the Columbus Cemetery Association in honor of Mrs. Griffin.
Graveside service will be 10:00am on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Columbus Cemetery with Rev. Keenan Williams officiating. Burial will follow. Arrangements are with BRAZZEL/Oakcrest The Funeral Home of Hope, Eddie BRAZZEL, Director.
