PRESCOTT – Area residents spent part of their Saturday evening at the live nativity at First United Methodist Church.

The area behind the church is decorated in the fashion of Jerusalem of biblical times, complete with a cafe and business stalls. Visitors could participate in contests – gathering the names of sheep and counting how many sparrows were there – as well as seeing an angel traverse the area. They could also visit goats, sheep and donkeys, enjoy hot apple cider, hot chocolate, popcorn and cookies.

The nativity will continue Sunday from 5:30-7 p.m. and again on Christmas Eve, from 3:30-5 p.m. Monday’s nativity will include a special service.
