PRESCOTT – Elected and county law enforcement officials were sworn in Wednesday morning at the Nevada County Courthouse.

Circuit Judge Duncan Culpepper officiated the swearing in ceremonies, starting with the elected officials at the Nevada County Courthouse. He followed with the justices of the peace, city officials, including the Mayor of Prescott, mayors and elected officials from communities other than Prescott and ended up with law enforcement.

Once the officials were sworn in, Culpepper was scheduled to go to hope and preside over court there. Circuit Judge Randy Wright presided over swearing in at the Hempstead County Courthouse and had to come to Prescott for court.

When the swearing in was done, the Nevada County Quorum Court met in special session to set the time and date for meetings for the next two years. The justices of the peace agreed to keep the meetings the second Tuesday of each month, but changed the meeting time from 4:30 p.m. to 5 o’clock as some members don’t get off work until then.
