Area flagpoles get LED lighting

PRESCOTT – Flag enhancement is going on in Prescott and Nevada County.

In Prescott, crews with Prescott Water and Light are working with Mark Reed, the flag man for the area, to install LED lighting on flagpoles. This is being done with the Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development Office and Prescott Downtown Development. Reed will be responsible for the flags getting raised and lowered, making sure they’re in proper working order and disposing of flags needing to be retired.

A new flag pole was set up Wednesday morning at the Nevada County Depot and Museum. This flag pole was obtained though an Arkansas Department of Heritage grant. About 12 poles are having lights installed. These lights will be solar powered and will light up the flags at night.
