Arrests made in movie money case

PRESCOTT – Two men have been arrested and charged in the passing of counterfeit money in Nevada County.

The two, Anthony Warren and Robert Block have been charged with first degree forgery, a class C felony. Both have had their first court appearance and are being held in the Nevada County Jail.

On January 15, officers with the Prescott Police Department and the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on a residence and vehicle, in the city limits of Prescott. The execution of the search warrant was successful in revealing approximately $18,700 in counterfeit US Currency, all in the denomination of $100 bills.

There have been two arrests in association with the counterfeit money, with more expected to come.

The Prescott Police Department encourages businesses to be cautious when taking US currency, as it is believed that some of this counterfeit money is still out there and may be used to buy merchandise.
