Soup’s on at food share

PRESCOTT – Volunteers brought 20 kinds of soup for a fundraiser for the local food share Thursday.

From 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. residents were lining up to try the soups. Tickets were $6 each with the money going to help the local food pantry. The meal consisted of a bowl of soup of the customer’s choice, cookies, cornbread and a drink. Takeout orders dominated sales as people took boxes filled with soup and sides back to work with them. The soups included: cheesy taco, chicken tortilla, beef, cheese and vegetable, cheesy potato, turnip green soup, deer chili, beef vegetable, white bean and ham, spicy broccoli and broccoli cheddar.
