Rafter J Celebrates Anniversary, Pastor and Elders Kiss Donkey
The Rafter J Cowboy Church on highway 29 south of Hope celebrated its 10th anniversary Sunday February 3rd. Now, while admirable, that’s not necessarily big news…however, the preacher and elders had promised to kiss a donkey named Burrito if the church achieved a record attendance…so how many people have to come to have a preacher kiss a donkey??? Well, we understand 291 came to Rafter J and true to his word, Pastor Terry Evans gave the donkey a big smack. So did the elders which include Ron Andrews, Dennis Green, Kenneth Williamson, and the other gent we have pictured here, Elder and Sheriff James Singleton. Oh, and we understand Joe David Key also kissed the donkey.
We have to be honest, in this day and time, why does anyone need fake news? The actual stuff that is going on around us is much more interesting! Kudos to Pastor Evans and the Elders at Rafter J for being good sports…and our best wishes go to Rafter J for many more years of ministry to our part of the world!
