Leadership group visits capitol
LITTLE ROCK – Leadership Nevada County held its State Government session on February 13th in Little Rock. The day started with a visit with the Land Commissioners office. The staff in the State Land Commission office described the process of auctioning land for delinquent taxes in the State. Land Commissioner Tommy Land also spoke to the group.
Staff with State Auditor’s office then spoke to the class and gave them an over view of what this office does. The class found the Arkansas Great Treasure Hunt stories very interesting.
Before lunch the group met Governor Asa Hutchinson and was able to visit some with him and also had their photo made with him.
Senator Bruce Maloch, Senator Larry Teague along with Representatives David Fielding visited with the group just before lunch which was provided by AT&T. Later in the day the group had some photos made with the Senators and Representatives and was able to observe the Senate and the House in action.
After lunch the group then went to visit with Secretary of State’s office and then the State Treasures office where they were able to go into the vault and have pictures made with about $500,000
Following a full day of activities at the Capitol, the Leadership class toured the Clinton Presidential Center. The Class finished up the day with dinner at Benihanas.
