Calendar glitch; no extra out day
HOPE – A glitch in production of the student handbook for all campuses of the Hope Public Schools incorrectly created an extended spring break for the school district.
Hope Schools Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart said Tuesday that the handbook calendar is not correct.
“It seems there is a mistake in our calendar at the front of the student handbook,” Dr. Hart said. “We held our parent-teacher conferences on Feb. 14 and were out on the 15th. We will be in school on March 15.”
The official calendar adopted by the Hope Public Schools Board shows classes will be in session on March 15.
The official spring break holiday is set on the calendar from March 18-22. Classes will be dismissed at the regular time on March 15, and classes will resume at the regular time on March 25.
“We are sorry for any confusion,” Hart said.
