Soup and Sermon

The Hempstead County Ministerial Alliance has kicked off its annual “Soup and Sermon” on Wednesday through Lent. The annual event is held each week at the Parish Hall of Our Lady of Good Hope Catholic Church on East Third. The first edition for 2019 was held March 13th. First Baptist Church brought the soup and those attending enjoyed it thoroughly. The message was brought by Daniel Bramlett of First Baptist. He invited Manolo Vasquez of Calvary Baptist to also bring a short message. Bro. Vasquez brought most of his part in Spainish with Bramlett translating. As usual, Robert Green provided musical accompaniment for the congregational hymn. Steve Johnson of First Methodist presided over the program. The public is invited each Wednesday beginning at 11:30am. The aim is to finish the program before 1pm so those who are working can get back to their job on time.
