Young Man With Hope Ties Named “Ace All-Star” by Ace Hardware Foundation
A Michigan child whose grandmother lives in Hope has been named “Ace All Star” by the Ace Hardware Foundation. Desmond Davis is a resident of Grand Blanc, Michigan. He was treated in 2014 at Beaumont Children’s Hospital In Royal Oak, Michigan for a tumor on his spine. The tumor was benign but Desmond has had to learn to walk again. The six year old still uses braces to walk and continues to receive physical therapy but is very active playing sports including basketball and football. A $10,000 donation from Duracell will be made to the Beaumont Children’s Hospital in Desmond’s name. He and his family will also be treated to an expense paid trip to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals’ conference at Walt Disney World.
Desmond is the son of Cornell and Kimberly Davis. He is the grandson of Shirley Hicks Davis of Hope.
