DHS hosts child abuse prevention coffee
By Staff, 04/11/19 11:13 AMPRESCOTT – Thursday’s community coffee was sponsored by the Nevada County Department of Human Services in recognition of April being National Child Abuse Prevention Month.
Jeffrey Williams, with child protective services, introduced the staff on hand and urged everyone to call if they’re having a problem with children or just have questions.
Rep. Danny Watson was also on hand and applauded the DHS for the job it does. “I wish we didn’t need this department,” he said, “and they didn’t have to do this for a living. It’s not fun, but it’s not going away and will only get worse.” Watson invited the staff to visit the state capitol.
