Hempstead County Sheriff’s Office and Hope Police help GMCS students celebrate Arkansas Children’s Week.

On Tuesday Hope Police Sergeant Casey Singleton, Hempstead County Deputies Luke Sorensen, Cpl. Michael Braddock, and Deputy Becky Billings took some of the different vehicles used by the Police and Sheriff’s office to the K-4 and Kindergarten classes at GMCS.
Sgt. Singleton brought one of the Hope PD. Police cars and let the students experience what it was like to be up close and in the police car. Sgt. Singleton gave the students safety tips and explained to the students that the police officers are their friend and would help when ever needed.
Sheriff James Singleton and three of his deputies brought three different vehicles to show the students and tell them what each vehicle was used for. Deputy Billings brought her Dodge Charger patrol car, Deputy Sorensen brought the sheriff’s HUMVEE, and Cpl. Braddock brought the Sheriff’s Armored Vehicle.
Ms. Willis’s class was treated to a ride in the HUMVEE courtesy of Deputy Sorensen, Deputy Braddock let the students experience what it was like to be in an armored vehicle.
Deputy Billings also brought a little candy to sooth each student’s taste buds.
