HHS athletics honors awarded

HOPE – Student athletes at Hope High School were recognized with year-end honors here in 12 sports-related activities May 6 at the annual HHS All-Sports Banquet.
A standing-room only turnout in the main conference center at Hempstead Hall also saw four student athletes honored with traditional community and Hope Public Schools awards for excellence.
Steve Buelow, owner of Anderson-Frazier Insurance, presented the longstanding Roy Anderson Award to Jalecia Davis, the 38th recipient of the honor which is named for Hope businessman and community leader the late Roy Anderson.
The James H. Jones Award, given to the outstanding senior male and female athletes in memory of longtime HPS Superintendent James H. Jones, was awarded by HHS Boys’ Basketball Coach Sam Bradford to Layman Howell, Jr., and by HHS Girls’ Basketball Coach to Natalie Phillips.
The Brazzel, The Funeral Home, Award from the Brazzel family of Hope, naming Keyolltai Harris as Outstanding Bobcat Basketball Player was announced by Ben Brazzel.
