PRESCOTT – The end of the school year is quickly approaching. Like many parents, the Prescott/Nevada County Library is busy planning ahead with activities to keep the young people in the community occupied and entertained. The program’s theme will be A Universe of Stories, with an emphasis on how participants can improve themselves, their community, and the world. Our programs are free and open to the public to encourage reading for fun and educate in fun and innovative ways. This includes infants all the way through teens to participate in a variety of activities – from cultural and educational opportunities through music, movies, animal programs, foods, crafts, special guest entertainers and much more.

Registration begins May 7th, and continues through the duration of the program. The program will officially kick off at 10:00 a. m. June 5th Activities are scheduled from June 5th through July 10th.

Light reading over the summer is an easy and fun way for the kids to keep their brains active to prevent a decline in reading achievement scores from the spring to the fall.

Getting Started – Summer Reading Log

June 5th – July 24th – Reading over the summer helps kids retain and grow their reading skills while they are out of school.

Kids read books at their own reading level (or listen to books if they are not yet reading) and earn prizes for each completed reading log.

You can pick up a reading log to keep track of all that great reading/listening you’re doing.

You can register any time throughout the program.
