Trio arrested by HPD
On June 16, at approximately 6 a.m., officers of the Hope Police Department responded to the area of the 1400 block of North Hervey Street in Hope, Arkansas in reference to a theft.
A short time later, officers arrested Latisha M. Smith, 34, of Jacksonville, Arkansas for theft of property. Smith was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility where she was booked and jailed, awaiting a first court appearance.
On June 15, at approximately 9:50 p.m., officers of the Hope Police Department arrested John Poindexter, 61, of Hope, with a warrant after observing Poindexter walking in the area of the 100 block of South Laurel Street in Hope. The officers were aware that a felony warrant had been issued for Poindexter’s arrest for breaking or entering, theft of property, and failure to comply. Poindexter was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.
On June 11, at approximately 2:40pm, officers of the Hope Police Department arrested Russell George, 51, of Pine Bluff, for aggravated assault. The arrest occurred in the 100 block of Beech Street and was the result of a verbal altercation involving a gun between several individuals. George was transported to the Hempstead County Detention Facility and held for a first appearance.
