McRae reunion, parade enjoyed by all
PRESCOTT – Purple and Gold dominated the streets of Prescott Saturday morning for the 50th McRae Reunion.
Cars, trucks, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles and horses lined up on Third Street at Central Baptist and quickly made their way to East Second where the streets were lined with fans gathered for the parade. Youngsters scrambled to get the candy tossed from some of the floats.
The parade ended at the old McRae school, where a catered lunch was served to those who bought tickets in advance. However, there were plenty who were just there to talk about old times. Prescott Mayor Terry Oliver and his wife, Nevada County Clerk Julie Oliver were the grand marshals.
After the events at the school ended, the reunion moved back to Texarkana.
